Minot High recognized on Class AAA All-State team

Kari Gibb/MDN Minot High senior Griffen Broderick was one of seven Magicians named to the 2024 NDHSCA AAA All-State Football Teams on Thursday, November 21.
The 2024 North Dakota High School Coaches Association (NDHSCA) Class AAA Football All-State Roster was released and seven players from Minot High were recognized.
Minot High was able to win all Western Dakota Association (WDA) games during the season and lost only to the two teams from the east that played each other in the XXXII Dakota Bowl for the Class AAA state championship.
The Magicians were ranked atop the state twice during the regular season as well. The recognition for the talent and skill on the team continued with the coaches voting for the AAA All-State rosters.
The first-team offensive roster consisted of senior running back Griffin Broderick and senior offensive lineman Dylan Huber.
In ten games this season, Minot High has averaged 224 yards per game rushing and just over 112 yards per game passing. A large portion of those rushing yards are based on the blocking provided by Huber and the power running handled by Broderick.
Griffin Broderick rushed a total of 1,126 yards this season scoring 12 touchdowns on 198 attempts. Broderick had nine receptions and 60 receiving yards.
The first-team defensive roster consisted of senior defensive lineman Landon Bedell, senior defensive back Kellan Burke, and senior defensive back Kaden Kraft.
The Magicians posted one shutout on the season and held four teams to just one score in their game. In Minot High’s season, only two teams were winners against the Magi and those two teams scored 24 and 17 points respectively.
Landon Bedell finished with five sacks, one interception, 11 tackles, and 132 defensive points. Kaden Kraft finished with four interceptions, 10 tackles, and 123 defensive points.
In addition to making the first teams on offense and defense, the list of players included two way athletes across the roster for Minot High.
Kraft led the team in receiving touchdowns while Burke passed for 11 scores in the air and six on the ground. Bedell had one receiving touchdown as well.
Huber posted three sacks on the year on the defensive side of the ball and had a fumble recovery in addition to 15 tackles and amassing 114 team points.
The second-team all-state list consisted of senior Mason Eichhorn and senior Adam Mrozik.
