MSU volleyball drops two games
The Beavers played in Bismarck on Thursday, October 17, and at home on Saturday, October 19, in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action last week and dropped both games. The losses left the Beavers at the bottom of the NSIC standings, two games behind Bemidji State University.
Northern State University 3, MSU 0
The Minot State University (MSU) volleyball team lost to the Northern State Wolves in straight sets 25-16, 25-19, 25-11 Saturday, October 19, at home at MSU Dome in NSIC action.
The loss dropped Minot State’s record to 1-16 overall and 0-10 in NSIC play.
Paulina Kowalska finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Beavers offense. Defensively, Minot State had two players reach double figures in digs as Kowalska had 11 and Madelynn Boop had ten.
Kowalska had the team-high eight kills for MSU and added a team-high 11 digs as well. MSU attackers were helped by a team-high 20 assists from Jaina Macaulay.
University of Mary 3, MSU 0
BISMARCK –The MSU volleyball team fell to the Mary Marauders in straight sets (19-25, 22-25, 22-25) Thursday on the road at McDowell Activity Center.
The loss dropped Minot State’s record to 1-15 overall and 0-9 in NSIC play. The Beavers were led by a double-double from Madelynn Boop who registered 13 kills and 14 digs on the day.
Mia Thompson also added four kills to help the attack. On the defensive end Viktoria Sedova chipped in with 16 digs to go with seven blocks from Bailee Brommenschenkel. Emily Barker had a match-high three aces and a team-high 11 assists in the effort.
