Minot State golfer Holly Knudsen tied after regulation

BISMARCK.- The Beavers golf teams came out successful from the Marauder Invitational With the men's A team finishing in second and the women's team in third.

Minot State University's (MSU)Holly Knudsen proved herself as a leader on the women's team once again as she finished second to Carrie Carmichael as both shot 18-over 162, but Carmichael won the individual title on the second hole of a playoff.

Notably, this was also Knudsen's fourth top-10 finish in four tournaments this fall season.

On the women's side, the Beavers shot a team-total of 128-over par (363). Following Knudsen was Zoe Banack who finished in fifth after shooting 29-over par (173). Right behind Banack wasLauryn Keller finishing in sixth place shooting 33-over par (177). Abigail Goettle finished tied for 14th after shooting 48-over par (192).

The women's title at the Marauder Invite was claimed by the hosts, University of Mary shooting a team total of 355 (166-over par).

On the men's side, Chase Gedak led the Beavers for the third competition in a row. Gedak shot 6-over par (150) placing him tied for fifth with fellow teammate, Jace Carslisle.

Next up for the Beavers was Zach Hendrickson who tied for 11th after shooting 12-over par(156). Tied for 15th was Darien Herlick who shot 15-over par (159). Joshua Tu tied for 17th shooting 16-over par (160). Winston Grayson shot 18-over par (162) placing him tied for 20th.

The men's A team clinched second place by shooting a team total of 317 (36-over par).The men's B team finished in seventh with a team total of 341 (93-over par).

The men's title at the Marauder Invite was won by Augustana. Augustana shot a team-total of 313 (22-over par).

The Beavers will take a week off competition and return to the greens on October 14-15 for the University of Sioux Falls (USF) Invitational at the Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort in Larchwood, Iowa.
