Sentinels had home loss, Magicians dropped road game in soccer action
Both local boys soccer teams faced Western Dakota Association (WDA) opponents in Saturday action. Minot North was home while Minot High was on the road for their contest.
Jamestown 12, Minot North 0
The Jamestown Blue Jays (10-0-0, 10-0-0) made the trip to Minot to face the Minot North Sentinels (1-9-0, 2-11-0) in WDA action. The visiting team, who sit atop the WDA standings, scored six goals in the first half and six more in the second half of play for the shutout win.
Jamestown’s Iddi Ramadhani scored his first goal in the first minute of the contest and added two more goals and assists as well. Brady Harty also had two goals in the game for Jamestown.
At goalie for the Sentinels, Griffin Wald recorded two saves while Macklin Kelly had four saves in the game.
The Sentinels will travel to Bismarck Legacy on Tuesday, September 17, for their next game before hosting Williston on Thursday for the next home action.
Williston 4, Minot High 2
The Magicians traveled west to face the Coyotes in WDA action. Williston (6-3-1, 6-3-1) scored three goals in the first half and one in the second to record the win. Minot High (5-3-1, 7-3-1) scored one goal in each half.
Magician Kyle Eklund passed the ball to Dylan Jackson after 22 minutes of play in the first half for the first Minot High goal. Minot High’s Tayson Solper scored his unassisted goal after 18 minutes of play in the second half.
The Coyotes scored with three different players at the third, fifth and sixth minutes of play with all three shots being assisted by Joaquin Pulido. Elias Vournas had two of the goals in the game for Williston.
Minot High goalie Grayden Wald recorded four saves in the effort while Williston goalie Tristan Boots had six saves.
Mandan-St. Mary’s will be at Minot High on Tuesday, September 17, and the next guest at Duane Carson Stadium will be Bismarck Century on Thursday.
