Royals battle Mavericks, take the win 50-44 in the end
In a football game that saw heavy offensive fire-power on both sides, the outcome would come down to the final minutes of the game – the last team with the ball had the edge in the high scoring contest.
The game started with the South Prairie-Max and Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood trading possession on the kicking game and scoring on the ground. By the middle of the second quarter the game was knotted at 14-14 with the Royals and the Mavericks just warming up.
WIth the lead changing hands several times throughout the game, and the hometown Royals playing catch up for much of the time, South Prairie-Max finally gained the lead at the end of the fourth quarter for the basketball score type game.
