DUNSEITH – Minot North girls golf made the trip to Dunseith for the Turtle Mountain Invite and missed the top finish by four strokes to Bismarck St. Mary’s who shot 342 for the win compared to the Sentinels at 346 for second place. Mandan would follow four strokes behind Minot North for third place with a 350 team score. Minot High would place eighth with a team total of 383 on the day.

Sentinels junior Emersyn Kopp would tie with two others at second place overall to lead Minot North with an 84 at the event. Fellow junior Kinzy Welstad turned in an 85 to tie for fifth just behind Kopp. Freshman Katelyn Bast tied for seventh place with an 86 as the third Minot North golfer in the top ten on the day. St. Mary’s senior, Abigail Schneider, was the medalist for the event with an 83 for the win.

Senior Carlie Brown shot 91 at 18th place while junior Ally Larson was in at 94 in 24th as well. Junior Abigail Speer rounded out the team score with a 115 for the Sentinels.

Minot High freshman Kenadee Burud was in at 86 as well to be tied for seventh and lead the Majettes. Junior Katie Thomas carded an 89 for 13th place while fellow junior Maura Alexander shot a 99 for 34th and sophomore Taylor Deslauriers hit 109 for 47th. Senior Samantha Lentz shot 116 for 54th place and the team score.

Next up for the teams is the Mandan Invite on September 3 at the Pebble Creek Golf Course.
