44th Western ND Charity Pro-Am set for Vardon
The Vardon Golf Course will be a busy spot for the rest of the week. The Western ND Charity Pro-Am will be held at the Vardon starting Thursday, August 15, and running through Sunday, August 18. This year is the 44th Pro-Am and is one of the marquee events on the Dakotas Tour.
Throughout its history, the main goal has been to raise money for various non-profits throughout Western ND, as the tourney name implies. Total donations now exceed $2 million with a record $75,000 given to various charities as a result of last year’s tournament.
There is a rich history of past pros playing in the tournament and moving up to the highest levels of golf as well. The total pro purse is $100,000 and the top prize is $25,000 for the winner. There are 75 pros in the field.
There will be a 36 hole cut and a 54 hole cut. The 75 pros will play Thursday and Friday, with the low 50 and ties playing Saturday. The 50 pros and ties will play Saturday in all pro groups with the low 25 and ties playing the final round on Sunday. All 25 on Sunday will be paid.
