ND athletes to compete in US Olympic Team Trials

BISMARCK – Two Bismarck Century High School graduates and former girls swimming standouts are preparing to swim in the 2024 Swimming U.S. Olympic Team Trials this week.

Carly Palmer, a 2019 Bismarck Century graduate and Erin Palmer, a 2022 Bismarck Century graduate are set to compete for an opportunity to make the Team USA roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics set for later this summer.

The 2024 Swimming U.S. Olympic Team Trials will take place Saturday, June 15, through Sunday, June 23, at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Carly Palmer, who recently completed her senior season at the University of Wyoming, is competing in the Women’s 100 Breaststroke (prelim heats set for Sunday, June 16). Erin Palmer, who recently completed her sophomore season at the University of Utah, is competing in the Women’s 50 Freestyle (prelim heats set for Saturday, June 22).

Both Carly and Erin Palmer were key contributors during Bismarck Century’s seven consecutive NDHSAA Girls Swimming & Diving team state titles from 2015-2021.

Carly Palmer was an eight-time individual state champion and was part of two active reigning state-record relay teams for the Patriots.

Erin Palmer was nine-time individual state champion and holds two active state records (400 Yard Freestyle Relay and 100 Yard Breaststroke).
