Minot High tennis enjoys three titles at Minot Round Robin

Minot High girls tennis hosted the Minot Round Robin Invite on Saturday and had Bismarck High, Bismarck Legacy, Bismarck Century, Bismarck St Mary’s, Mandan, Dickinson and Minot North in attendance. The hosting Majettes ended the day with three top finishes and a pair of third place spots.

At No. 1 singles, Minot High’s Sidney Ressler won the first set over Legacy’s Aleah McPherson 6-0, before dropping the second and third sets, 7-5, 10-8 in bracket play. McPherson took top honors with Bismarck High’s Sydney Hall was second and Ressler finished third at the invite.

At No. 2 singles, Kylie Fettig, of Minot, claimed wins of 6-4, 6-4 in round one and 6-1, 6-4 in the championship of the bracket and earned first place for Minot High, while Kyla Jorgenson was second for Century and Halle Severson was third for Legacy.

No. 3 singles saw Majettes’ Ava Thuner advance with a 6-2, 6-1 over Abby Bohl to start the bracket and 6-3, 6-3 win over Cambrya Craft. Craft finished second for Legacy and Bohl was third for St Mary’s.

Valeria Bradley and Shayna Klitzke, from Dickinson, finished in the top spot at No. 1 doubles; while Sophia Felderman and Noelle DeRosier were second for Mandan, and Grace Olson and Sienna Ronning were third for Minot High. G. Olson and Ronning lost 7-5, 3-6, 13-11 in the first round of bracket play to Mandan and won 6-3, 6-2 ahead of Legacy for third..

In the No. 2 doubles, Lila Olson and Reese Goodman beat Lilly and Ellie Thomsen of Mandan in round one and Morgan and Erin Daley girls from Dickinson 6-1, 6-3 for first place for Minot High. The Daleys were second for Dickinson and the Thomsens claimed third for Mandan.

The Majettes will take on their cross town rivals, the Minot North Sentinels, today at Hammond Park, weather permitting.
