Hat tricks by Perrin, Burke fuel Majettes rout of Dickinson

The Dickinson Midgets (0-3, 0-3) made the trip to Minot High (3-0, 4-0) in an effort to be the team to make history by handing the Majettes a loss and putting an end to the unbeaten streak. Minot High soccer did win the game 23-0 and kept the unbeaten streak running at 55 games. Dickinson loaded the bus as one more group in a long line of those who have tried and come up short against Minot High.

There are 19 players on the Majettes roster. There were 14 players who scored goals in the game with Dickinson. Junior Morgan Forthun had the honor of scoring the first goal early on Dickinson with senior Maicee Burke feeding her the ball. It was the first of three goals for Forthun who also had two assists in the game.

Senior Emerson Perrin also had three goals and five assists in the win with an early departure as second team members played much of the second half. Burke scored three goals and had three assists in the game, playing very little of the second half.

The Majettes led 11-0 after one half of play with goals by Forthun, Burke and Perrin along with freshmen Kohlee Roberts and Aleah Gibbons as well as senior Lexie Schonauer. Assists in the first half were made by Burke, Forthun and Perrin along with senior Julia Lewis and sophomore Jayva McKibben.

In the second half, Minot High scored 12 goals. Forthun, McKibben and Perrin were joined by Anistyn Perrin, McKenna Aldrich, freshman Ella Nelson, junior Jayda Schall, sophomore Camden Varty and freshman Syvanna Fowler.

Freshman goalie Kinsli Gilmore found the net. Gilmore was rotated from goalie to the field, being spelled by eighth grader Ayla Gilstad. Assists in the second half were recorded by Burke, E. Perrin, McKibben, Fowler and Gibbons. In four games this season, Minot High has 33 goals scored and none allowed.

Minot High hosts Bismarck St. Mary’s (1-3, 1-3) today and travels to Bismarck Legacy (1-2-1, 1-2-1) on Thursday, April 18 before facing Jamestown (3-0, 3-0) at home on Tuesday, April 23, in a matchup of leading teams. Mandan, Jamestown and Minot High are the top three teams so far in the Western Dakota Association (WDA). The Majettes have already beaten Mandan on the road, 2-0, and will not face the Braves again until Friday, May 3, at home.
