Century spoil Magi grapplers’ home opener; Lakers roll past Stanley

Several area teams hit the mats in boys wrestling on Thursday. The Bismarck Century Patriots spoiled Minot High’s home opener, while the Des Lacs-Burlington Lakers defeated Stanley 46-15.

Bismarck Century 44, Minot High 18

Kaden Kraft, Noah Bledsoe and Tucker Nelson all picked up wins for the Magi, but it wasn’t enough to outlast the Bismarck Century Patriots, who won 44-18.

Kaden Kraft defeated Braxtyn Fisher at 152 pounds in the Magi’s first win of the night. Two matches later Noah Bledsoe won at 172 lbs over Tyler Meyers. Then, Tucker Nelson picked up the Magi’s final win of the evening over Grant Carlson at 189 lbs.

The Magicians will be competing this weekend at the Carrington Invitational on Friday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Dec. 9.

Des Lacs-Burlington 46, Stanley 15

Tucker Miller (107), Isaiah Schulze (127), Shawn Barrette (133), Kaidan Smith (139), Breyden Buee (145), Harrison Schwartz (152), Cooper Bredahl (160), Elie Buee (172) and Kenny Smith (189) all picked up wins for Des-Lacs Burlington.

The Stanley Blue Jays got wins from Cohen Bell (121), Trey Bohmbach (215) and Griffin Wilhemi (285).
