BISMARCK - Despite six WDA titles, including two relay wins, Minot High was unable to defend their WDA girls' swimming/diving title as Bismarck High edged them by just 5.5 points, 433.5-428.

The Majettes' relay team of Ava Williamson, Bostyn Edwards, Sam Vonbokern and Gabby Osborn won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:54.30.

Williamson, Edwards and Vonbokern teamed up with Reed Goodman to take first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay, posting a time in the finals of 3:43.21 and shaving over two seconds off their seed time, and a full second faster than Bismarck Century's team of Lauryn Caster, Ava Erickson, Sienna Mrachek and Mady Tivis.

After contributing to relay wins, both Williamson and Vonbokern won individual titles as well. Williamson won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:14.95, nearly three seconds faster than Dickinson High's Taylor Miller. Vonbokern had first place finishes in both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events. She was the only girl to break the 25 seconds barrier in the 50-yard freestyle, doing so with both her seed time and in the finals. Her finals time was 24.55. Vonbokern's 53.14 was over a second faster than Bismarck Century's Caster in the 100-yard freestyle.

Haily Conklin and Ella Kesler finished first and second in the 1-meter diving competition to round out Minot High's titles on the weekend.

Williamson added a third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke and Edwards and Haili Metger finished fourth and fifth respectively in the 100-yard breaststroke. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Gabby Osborn, Emily Dunstan, Sophia VonBokern and Reese Goodman paced third with a time of 1:44.29.

After the meet, the all-WDA team was named. Minot High placed five girls on the team: Vonbokern, Williamson, Edwards, Conklin and Kesler.

The Majettes will close out their season at the NDHSAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the Bismarck Aquatic Center on Friday, Nov. 10 and Saturday, Nov. 11.
