Minot trio named to Class A All-State team

Sean Arbaut Minot’s Kinsey Fjeld, pictured above in this file photo, was recently named to the 2023 NDHSCA All-State Softball Team.

Three Minot Majettes were named to the NDHSCA 2023 Class A Softball All-State Team. Junior Ellington Anderson joined seniors Cierra Erickson and Kinsey Fjeld on the squad. Minot head coach Gerard Cederstrom was named the NDHSCA Subway Coach of the Year.

Anderson played all 34 games for the Majettes. On offense, she recorded 71 hits with 59 singles, seven doubles, four triples and one home run, to go along with 83 runs and 32 RBI. On defense, she managed a .953 fielding percentage with 36 put outs.

Erickson hit .505 on the year, 48 hits with 27 singles, 17 doubles, one triple and three home runs. She scored 38 runs and had 66 RBI. She recorded a .994 fielding percentage with 146 put outs in the season.

Fjeld also maintained a .505 batting average to go along with 53 hits with 38 singles, 14 doubles and one triple. She scored 54 runs with 50 RBI.

Cederstrom led the Majettes to a 31-3 record, a WDA Championship, and a runner-up finish at the recent Class A state tournament.

Others named to the team included: Makenna Alexander (West Fargo Sheyenne), Jersey Berg (Bismark), Jocelyn Berg (Grand Forks Red River), Jenna Decker (Dickinson), Courtney Dockter (West Fargo), Ella Falk (Jamestown), Katie Falk (Jamestown), Kate Geiszler (West Fargo Sheyenne), Ava Jahner (Dickinson), Emma Johnson (West Fargo), Katelyn Kackman (West Fargo), Mara Lick (West Fargo), Kyra Narum (West Fargo Sheyenne), Makenna Nold (Jamestown) and Ella Speidel (Grand Forks Red River).

The NDHSCA POWERade Outstanding Senior Athlete was Katie Falk of Jamestown.
