MSU women’s hockey signs forward from Saskatchewan

MINOT – Continuing to work hard to build for a successful future on the ice, Minot State women’s hockey coach Ryan Miner is pleased to introduce his team’s latest star recruit.

Coach Miner is pleased to announce that forward Olivia Kirwan from Gull Lake, Saskatchewan has signed a National Letter-of-Intent and will join the Beavers as a freshman on the ice and in the classroom this coming fall.

“We are excited to add Olivia for the upcoming season,” Coach Miner said. “She is a dynamic skater that works hard at both ends of the ice. She has the ability to produce offensively, whether it’s complimenting her linemates or getting the job done.

“I look forward to welcoming her to the Minot State family!”

Kirwan is a 5-foot-6 forward who has 5 goals and 8 assists in 24 games this season with the Swift Current U18 AAA Wildcats.

A senior at Gull Lake School, she has been in the top 80 percent of her class throughout high school.

“I chose Minot State because it is a new adventure for me,” said Kirwan, who also plays basketball, softball, volleyball, and badminton. “A new team, new city, new country. And looking at their facilities also makes me want to go there.”
