Karter Peterson (4) of Thompson and Atticus Wilkinson (32) of Shiloh Christian battled in the post during the Dale Brown Classic. Thompson and Shiloh Christian entered the day ranked in the top ten.
Paying tribute to a legendary coach in Dale Brown who was born and raised in the Magic City and was a former player at Minot State University, Class B boys’ basketball teams made their way to the MSU Dome on Tuesday to partake in the Dale Brown Classic.
In an action-packed day, Tuesday featured seven games as fans filled the dome for a belated Christmas gift in the form of a plethora of basketball games. In what was a loaded slate, teams form six different regions participated in the classic with a handful of them being ranked or received votes.
In the latest North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NDAPSSA) poll that came out on Dec. 26, No. 1 Four Winds, No. 4 Shiloh Christian, No. 7 Thompson, and No. 8 North Star were all the highest ranked teams in attendance. St. John and Dickinson Trinity were not ranked in the latest poll, but they were close and received votes.
In perhaps the premier matchup of the day, No. 4 Shiloh Christian and No. 7 Thompson headlined the schedule as the lone contest with two ranked teams set to battle it out.
