For the youth of our area it looks to be an exciting summer of golf. Dakota Junior Golf has expanded the number of golf tournaments for area youth. If a young boy and girl wants to improve on their golf skills and have some fun this is a great opportunity. Minot Junior Golf will be chartering a bus for many of the events. Under the enthusiastic direction of Chris Giess I see nothing but a bright future for the junior tour.

Tim Doppler of Riverwood has been doing a great job but with Chris on board he will have more time to expand the events. The juniors will be playing courses that will be included in many of the high school events. The young golfers register for a USGA GHIN handicap but there is no charge for junior golfers. Play by the rules and the spirit of the game.

You are responsible for applying your own penalties if you breach a rule.

Tip of the Week. When practicing and playing remember to swing the club. Do not try and just hit the ball. You have to use your core to swing.
