MSU signs three new men’s hockey recruits

This week, the Minot State Beavers men’s hockey program announced the signings of three new players to its 2021-2022 roster.

On Thursday, the Beavers added a pair of forwards who were former teammates. Owen Christensen and Josh Pederson, both of whom played with the Campbell River Storm of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League, were added to the Beavers.

Christensen, at 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds, is a native of North Vancouver, British Columbia and played center for the River Storm. Meanwhile, Pederson also stands 5-foot-11 inches tall while weighing in at 155. A native of White Rock, British Columbia, Pederson manned the right wing position for the River Storm.

Then on Friday, Jake Bestul, a 5-foot-8 forward from Hibbing, Minnesota, was announced as MSU’s newest addition. Previously, Bestul attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and was a captain of the Waywayseecappo Wolverines of the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League.
