Minot State announces 2021 cross country schedule

The Minot State University cross country program announced its 2021 schedule. The Beavers open competition in the Minnesota State Moorhead Dragon Twilight on Sep. 10 in Moorhead, Minnesota.

After the event in Moorhead, the charge continues into the second weekend on Sep. 18 at the Missouri Southern State University Southern Stampede, which is also an NCAA Regional Preview in Joplin, Mo.

The Beavers then plan to travel to the University of Minnesota to compete in the Roy Griak Invitational on Sep. 24, followed by the Jamestown Jimmie Invitational at the University of Jamestown on Oct. 8 and the Lewis Conference Crossover at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois to close out the regular season.

The NSIC conference schedule begins in mid-September and concludes with the conference championships on the weekend of Oct. 23 in Moorhead. MSU will look to earn a berth into the NCAA Central Region Championships on Nov. 6.

The 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships take place on Nov. 20 in Tampa, Florida to wrap up the fall season.

Meanwhile, MSU head coach Mark Del Monaco expressed his optimism regarding the upcoming season. “I am really excited about the upcoming season after not being able to compete last fall. It will be great for our guys and gals to be back out on the country course and into a normal routine of racing,” Del Monaco stated.
