A’Jahni Levias signs with Fighting Hawks

University of North Dakota head men’s basketball coach Paul Sather announced the addition of A’Jahni Levias to the program on Wednesday. The forward will have all four years of eligibility remaining and will be immediately added to the 2021-22 roster.

“In his freshman season at a Division I junior college, A’Jahni proved to be an efficient scorer that can defend and rebound really well at his position,” said Sather. “He has great size and length for a wing player and attacks the basket with the mindset to score or get fouled. A’Jahni got better throughout the season and we’re excited about continuing that growth these next four years here at the University of North Dakota.”

Levias spent last season at Central Wyoming College, leading the Rustlers in nearly every category. The rookie was tops in scoring (17.6), rebounding (8.3) and field goal percentage (.523) while playing only 21.4 minutes per game to be one of only two freshman to be named to the All-Region Second Team. The Vallejo, California, native reached double figures in all but three games on the campaign, including ending the season with 14 straight and eight games of 20-or-more points.

The highly touted recruit also registered nine double-doubles last season, finishing the season with over 10 points and 10 boards in the final six games of the year. He tallied a season-high 15 rebounds in a win over Casper College on March 24 to go alongside a career-best 33 points on 12-of-15 shooting.

Levias played his prep ball at Golden Valley High School during his freshman and sophomore seasons before heading to Providence High School for his final two years. While at Providence, he earned back-to-back All-CIF First Team honors after averaging over 15 points and seven rebounds as a senior.
