MHS completes sweep at Cameron

Majettes beat four opponents in one day

Robert Brewer/MDN Minot's Eden Olson makes this difficult shot along the baseline to keep a rally going during Friday's doubles match against Dickinson.

It was a four-match sweep for the Minot girls tennis team as they opened their spring season Friday at the Cameron Indoor Tennis facility.

In a 3-2 format, Minot defeated Williston, Century, Dickinson and Jamestown all by final scores of 5-0. The Majettes were so dominant in fact, the team collectively did not drop a set for the entire day.

Afterwards, Minot head coach Scott DeLorme stated that he had talked with his team the day before the meet and stressed the importance of making incremental improvements to start the new season.

“It was a good day for us, and I thought we played well all across our lineup today,” DeLorme told the Minot Daily News. “It was hard to know what the other teams would have because it was basically our first event in two years, so we had to focus on what we needed to do as individuals to get better. The girls did an awesome job.”

Up next for the Majettes, their home meet on Tuesday has been moved to Williston where they plan to square off against the Coyotes at the Williston Area Recreation Center. Start time for that meet is set for 4 p.m.
