MSU recap: Beavers beat Upper Iowa 90-85 in OT

Women's hockey defeats Midland 3-2

In men’s basketball on Friday, the Beavers defeated Upper Iowa 90-85 in overtime to advance to the NSIC semifinal round.

Cam’ron Dunfee dropped a career high 30 points while logging 43 minutes in the MSU victory. senior guard Cody Max added 20 points, and MSU’s Kody Dwyer and Melvin Newbern each chipped in with 12 points.

Next up for Minot State, they will face the North Division’s top seed Northern State on Saturday at 4 p.m. The game will be played in the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

In women’s hockey, the Beavers improved its season mark to 10-3 with a 3-2 victory over Midland at the Maysa Arena. MSU will wrap up its two-game homestand against Midland on Saturday. Start time for that contest is slated for 5 p.m.

In softball, the Beavers fell to Southwest Minnesota State 5-1 in the first game of a doubleheader. In the second game of the evening, Minot State was beaten 7-6. Now 7-3 on the year, MSU plans to travel to St. Cloud State for another doubleheader on Saturday.
