Wrestling: MSU drops meet to UMary at home, 20-13

On Friday afternoon, the Minot State Beavers held their second meet of the season, but lost in a non-conference matchup with the University of Mary.

At the outset, Minot won three of the first four matches to take a 10-3 lead. At 125 pounds, Oscar Nellis defeated Jeremy Leintz in a 7-2 decision. Then at 141, it was MSU’s Lincoln Stormer who got the better of Logan Mahoney in a 12-4 major decision. Meanwhile, 149-pounder Shadi Mitwalli accounted for Minot State’s third win in a 7-6 decision over Chandler Mooney.

From that point, Keegan Berry was the only other Beaver wrestler to record a match win as he prevailed in a 6-1 decision over Grant Litke at 184.

Up next, Minot State plans to host Northern State University in a NSIC Conference showdown on Thursday, Jan. 21.
