Divide County volleyball advances to regional tournament

On Monday night, the Divide County Maroons (7-4) topped the Powers Lake Ranchers (4-12) in four sets (25-16, 25-20, 22-25, 25-7) to claim the District 16 consolation championship.

For Divide County, Alissa Haugland led the way offensively with a team-high seven kills, and Emma Bydal and Ella Heide both contributed with six kills each. Meanwhile, Reagan Casteel led the Maroons in assists with 16, and Tia Nygaard had a team-high five aces for Divide County.

Ryanne Slemin had a game-high 12 kills, and also posted five blocks and two digs in a losing effort for Powers Lake. Fellow Rancher Camryn Rystedt also notched a game-high in assists with 26, and finished the evening with three digs and a block. Meanwhile, Emily Grote, Tianna Enget, Chiara Rystedt and Savanna Fredrickson all posted four kills apiece in defeat.

Up next for Divide County, they are scheduled to travel to Trenton for their opening round matchup in the Region 8 Tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
