Majettes sophomore Trinity Jessen takes first place at Anderson/Stavn Invite, Magi finish third

BISMARCK — The Minot High School cross country teams competed against fellow WDA schools at the Anderson/Stavn Invite on Saturday afternoon at McDowell Dam Park. Here’s a look at how both squads fared.

Majettes

Minot (56 points) took hold of second place and eked out Legacy (58 points). Bismarck High finished in first place with 31 points, while Mandan finished in last place with 101 points.

Minot sophomore Trinity Jessen earned a statement victory with a final time of 18:59.29. Seventh-grader Scout Ulrickson (22:03.27) took 10th place, while freshman Maicee Burke (22:22.12) finished in 13th place.

Junior MaLiah Burke (22:36.72) secured the No. 15 spot. Seventh-grader Cynthia Schroeder (22.39:06) finished in 17th place and earned Minot’s final top-20 finish.

Junior Kylie Roberts (23:05.50), senior Brooke Keller (23:11.04), eighth-grader Piper Erickson (23:19.27), sophomore Hyla Erickson (24:18.50), freshman Addyson Wendt (25:05.95) and sophomore (25:22.13) also represented the Majettes.

Magicians

Bismarck High claimed first place with a final score of 22 points. Legacy took second with 39 points, while Minot finished in third place with 69 points. Bismarck High senior Sean Korsmo (15:28.19) earned the individual title.

Minot junior Grant Schaeffer (17:46.59) paced the Magi with a tenth-place finish. Fellow junior Oscar Hultz (17.54.01) finished right behind Schaeffer in 11th place.

Senior Jacob Hight (19:12.62), senior Bryce Rose (19:30.76), junior Everett Aberle (19:56.29), senior Collin Roth (20:11.90), senior Alexander Debowey (20:13.04), senior Luke Peterson (20:26.50), and Ben Lepp (20:32.40) also competed for the Magi.

Both teams will compete at the Becki Wells Invite on Friday at Dickinson’s Heart River Golf Course. The Majettes will race at 12:30 p.m. The Magi will race approximately an hour later.
