Ross Miller wins Western ND Charity Pro-Am

Ross Miller’s worst round was a 3-under-par on his way to winning to the 2020 Western N.D. Charity Pro-Am this weekend at the Vardon Golf Club in Minot.

Miller shot a 26-under 262 to win the pro division in the annual four-day tournament. Brady Calkins finished two strokes back for a second-place finish two years in a row after winning the event in 2018.

Calkins and third-place finisher Derek Bayley both shot rounds of 64 on Sunday to make up five shots on Miller’s worst round of 69.

Yet, it wasn’t enough to catch Miller, who put together sparkling rounds of 65-64-64 the three days prior.

Miller, a native of Maple Grove, Minnesota, golfed collegiately at Minnesota State-Mankato (2011-15) and was the 2014-15 NSIC Men’s Golf of the Year.

In the amateur division, which wrapped up on Saturday, four different winners were crowned.

Steven Zarr (211) topped Cody Reynolds (213) for the gross score title. Matt Schneider and Josh Ressler shared first-place honors in the Net A score category, and Cory Almy won the Net B competition.
