MHS softball player Cambrie Pretzer commits to Bryant & Stratton College

Alex Eisen/MDN Minot High's Cambrie Pretzer surveys the field during a Class A softball game played at the South Hill Softball Complex in Minot.

After enjoying a strong junior season, Minot High School senior Cambrie Pretzer signed to play softball with Bryant & Stratton College (Wisconsin).

Pretzer played third base for the Majettes before her senior season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2018, Pretzer posted a .378 batting average (37-for-98).

She improved her hitting statistics in her junior year and recorded a .452 batting average (52-for-115). She hit 36 singles and added 46 RBIs in 2019.

“She keeps her emotions in check, which helps the team stay focused and on mission,” MHS softball head coach Gerard Cederstrom said.

Cederstrom praised Pretzer for her dedication to the sport.

“She has put a lot of time into working her craft and in the weight room,” Cederstrom said. “She is a power hitter with line drive and gap power. But, she is looking to get rid of that ‘warning track power’ moniker this spring.”

Bryant & Stratton College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The Bobcats were 1-2 before the pandemic canceled their season.

“We wish Cambrie the best in college,” Cederstrom said. “She knows the Magi nation is with her.”
