Brock Teets takes over as ORCS BBB head coach

After taking a short break from coaching, Brock Teets will return to the sidelines as the Our Redeemer’s boys basketball head coach next season.

Teets coached at Glenburn for six years before moving to Lewis & Clark/Berthold. He won three Region 6 Tournament championships in four years before taking the reins at Bishop Ryan.

After earning another Region 6 title during the 2016-17 season, Teets remained on staff as an assistant for the following year. During his time away from the game, he considered a return.

“I put some thought into it,” Teets said. “I wanted to get back into coaching. I missed it.”

While Teets took his break, former ORCS head coach Brody Bosch invited him to some practices. Those sessions alongside Bosch — whom Teets coached at Ryan — reignited his passion for the game.

“I got to know those kids at ORCS on a certain level,” Teets said. “I’ve got nothing but good things to say about them.”

After former Ryan head coach Jeremy Feller resigned in March, Bosch accepted that job in April. This past season, Bosch led ORCS to a 19-6 record and a District 12 Tournament championship.

The competitive atmosphere in District 12 appeals to Teets. Born and raised in Minot, he grasped the Magic City’s love for the sport.

“It’s a basketball town,” Teets said. “That’s what makes the community fantastic.”
