MINNEAPOLIS — After enjoying a successful Saturday evening, the No. 2 Minot State women’s hockey team came out with a vengeance on Sunday morning.

The Beavers defeated the Gophers 7-1 on Sunday and finished off their regular-season schedule with a sweep. After Mackenzie Balogh scored in the first period, the Beavers struck for five goals in the second frame.

The Gophers tacked on a third-period goal, but it wasn’t enough.

The dominating performance followed a narrow win on Saturday night.
