Signature road win for Majettes basketball in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN — The newly signed North Dakota State track and field commit Allie Nelson dropped a team-high 19 points to lead the Minot High School girls basketball team to a 61-55 road victory Saturday afternoon in Jamestown.

The 61 points scored, on 25 made field goals, was a season-high for Minot High (2-3, 2-3 WDA).

Last season, the four-win Majettes lost both games to the Blue Jays (4-2, 3-2 WDA) by a combined five points.

Supporting Nelson on the offensive end was Lauren McLean (11 points), Tia Haskins (9), Paige Rosencrans (8), Mariah Evenson (7), Landry Maragos (5) and Becca Tschetter (2).

Jamestown got a bulk of its scoring from Kameron Selvig with 19 points.

Minot is currently battling through a five-game road stretch. They have two more away games left against Watford City on Jan. 3 and Mandan on Jan. 6.
