Aberdeen Wings topple Minotauros 5-1

The Aberdeen Wings defeated the Minot Minotauros 5-1 Tuesday at Maysa Arena. Clayton Cosentino had two goals while goaltender Henry Welsch made 33 saves in the victory for the Wings.

Aberdeen scored the lone tally in the first period via a Mack Byers power-play goal with 40 seconds left on the clock. Two more goals came in the second period, scored by Cosentino and Riley Murphy.

Rounding out the scoring with two more goals in the third period was Pierson Brandon and Cosentino again. The Minotauros got on the board in the third period with a Cade Stibbe goal at the 13:03 mark.

Jordan Randall had two assists while Cooper Harr, Jack Powell and Cade Neilson each had one.

Aberdeen outshot Minot 50-34. Minot goaltender Ben Garrity made 45 saves in the loss.

Minot will face the Austin Bruins at 7:05 p.m. Friday at the Riverside Arena.
