Minot High cheer teams complete UCA camp

The Minot High School varsity and junior varsity cheer teams went through the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) camp Tuesday and Wednesday at the Central Campus High School in Minot.

The national camp is required by the North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA) to certify teams for stunting and safety.

Thirty-six cheerleaders from the football, basketball and hockey cheer teams participated in the national camp. The UCA camp certified the team for performing team stunts along with providing instructions for cheers, dances, sportsmanship and school spirit.

The Minot High cheer teams received Superior Team Awards from the UCA for their skills and performance. Outstanding individual efforts in all aspects of the camp were awarded an All American Selection.

Those athletes were as followed: seniors — Hannah Foss, Carly Johnson, Jaslin Short, Caitlyn Summers, Bryanne Thorson, Chloe Watterud, Jewliya Yunko; juniors — MacKenzie Perry, Madison Perry; sophomores — Dakota Harvey, Bella Howard, Trinity Calderon, Madison Cartelli, Taylor Garaas, Dylan Werner, Shay Green, Iyanah Sharp; freshmen — Aris Purdy, Mackenzie Strange.

The teams are coached by Vytalli Klimpel and Madison Werner.
