Javelin thrower Odin Nelson takes fifth in national competition
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Minot High graduate and future University of North Dakota javelin thrower Odin Nelson had a standout showing at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor last week in Greensboro, North Carolina.
With a throw of 61.53 meters, Nelson placed fifth out of 28 high school athletes in attendance. Ty Hampton from North Bend, Oregon, had the winning throw of 67.94 meters.
The New Balance Nationals Outdoor brings together over 5,000 athletes from across the county. This was the 29th edition of the outdoor nationals. There is also an indoors nationals held in March.
