Minot State Director of Athletics Andy Carter announced on Tuesday that head softball coach Dave Kivett will not return after two seasons at Minot State University.
"After a careful evaluation of the overall direction of the program, I felt it was best in the interest of the trajectory of our growth to find a better fit to lead our softball program," said Carter. "We are fully committed to the success of our softball program and the experience of our student-athletes."
In the two seasons, Kivett compiled a 51-47 overall record with two NSIC Tournament appearances while the Beavers broke over 20 Division II era school records.
The Beavers had four All-NSIC selections the last two seasons, including First Team All-Central Region honoree by both the NFCA and D2CCA, Tori Zimmermann.
A national search for the new head softball coach will begin immediately.
