Late-game heroics lift Minotauros Saturday
The Minot Minotauros’ quest for a playoff push continues.
After things seemed bleak late in the third period against the Minnesota Wilderness Saturday, the Tauros scored two goals in the final 2 minutes to walk away with a 3-2 victory at Maysa Arena. With the win, the Tauros moved into a tie with Bismarck for fourth place in the NAHL Central Division, with each team racking up 54 points so far.
Keenan Lund started the scoring for Minot, racking up a goal with 24 seconds left in the first period for an early 1-0 lead.
The Wilderness scored both of their goals in the second period, then Michael Talbott knocked home an equalizer with 1:45 remaining in regulation. With the game looking destined for overtime, Alex Adams was the hero for Minot, scoring with 5 seconds left to seal the victory.
Minot outshot Minnesota 39-28, with goalie Nick Grabko picking up the victory after recording 26 saves.
The Minotauros are back in action at 7:35 p.m. Friday at Maysa Arena.
