Services available in Minot area for veterans, families

Services are provided for veterans and their families by a number of entities in Minot and area:

They include:

– Minot Vet Center: readjustment counseling plus information and assistance with numerous benefits, 852-0177

– Minot VA Clinic: medical care, including a homeless veteran coordinator. 418-2600

– County and Tribal veterans service offices: benefits for veterans. (See list at nd.gov/veterans)

– Minot State University Veterans Center: veterans’ educational benefits. 858-4002

– Supportive Services for Veterans Families through Community Action: VA-funded program to help those including homeless, transportation assistance, etc. 839-7221

– Minot Area Homeless Coalition: advocates, coordinates and optimizes services for homeless persons. 852-6300

– Job Service North Dakota, Minot: veterans representative. 857-7500

– Family Assistance Center, Armed Forces Reserve Center, Minot: provides support and assistance to service members and their families by offering information about military, federal, state, and local resources. 701-420-5861

– North Dakota Military Outreach Program, Armed Forces Reserve Center, Minot: state program to connect veterans, service members and family members with the “right resource to fit their needs.” 420-5848

– Veterans Step Up Foundation: organization founded by veterans to help veterans get their benefits. 701-681-9272.
