Scout troop seeks leaders
Lucas Fairaizl, First Class Scout, Deering
The reason why I’m writing this is because Boy Scout Troop 425 of Minot has had a great impact on me as well as many other people in making them more responsible as well as nicer people. Troop 425 is currently looking for a Scoutmaster and other adult leaders at the moment.
Our troop was founded in 1964. We’ve promoted 106 Eagle Scouts since that time. If there are any former Scouts who are adults now, or adults who might be interested in being involved with scouts, we would like to invite them to attend a meeting. We have meetings Tuesday nights at the Congregational United Church of Christ at 7 p.m.
We have many campouts throughout the year as well as many other activities, whether it’s a fundraiser or a community service project. Some of the campouts we attend are at: Mt.Carmel , Camp Wilderness, Loon Lake, National Guard Camp Grafton and Big 4, to name a few. Some of the fundraisers we do are: candy sales, popcorn sales and wreath sales. Some of the community service projects we do are: boxing honey at the Boys and Girls Ranch, spring and fall clean up at the church, participating at the Annual Good Friday, and we also do “Fill-R-Canoes” Food Drive.
I would like to say thank you to the church for allowing us to use their buildings and thank you to the rest of the community for your support.
