Impeachment is good use of time?

Kari L. Conrad, Glen Ullin

Representative Armstrong is introducing a bill to impeach Joe Biden. He has no facts, just suppositions. Is chasing after bits of gossip a beneficial use of Congressional time?

Instead, Mr. Armstrong could focus on securing a long-term farm bill, advocating for funding for Ukrainian patriots’ weapons, finding ways to live with our neighbors and secure the border, or persuading Republican to stop threating a government shutdown. Initiating a goose chase that will only embarrass our country in the eyes of our allies seems like a colossal waste of effort.

North Dakotans and other Americans are working hard to rebuild their families, their schools and churches, and their businesses after the devastating pandemic. Instead of more investigations, they could use stability and thoughtful attention to policies from Republican leaders.

If Mr. Armstrong wants to participate in intriguing speculation about Joe Biden and his son, it might be better for him to find an open chair in a warm coffee shop where he could find an attentive audience, rather than taking up space for such ruminations in the halls of Congress.
