District 40 censure raises concern
Tyrone Langager, Minot
Before I make my main point, if permitted, a few disclaimers: (1) I have known Senator Krebsbach since before her election to the legislature and have always found her to be open, receptive, and tolerant of diverse political views. (2) I do not know Jay Lundeen, but at my wife’s behest I do visit his exercise business. (3) I have always considered myself a conservative Republican (with a few MAGA propensities), but I must admit that I found Senator Krebsbach’s votes to be within the very acceptable range of orthodox Republiicianism (virtually all of the issues at hand belong under local authority, not state control)
My main concern with the action taken is, however, on two points. (1) the term “censure” is overwrought balderdash. It implies a condemnation of diverse political views which are best handled at the ballot box, not by public posturing. (2) Mr. Lundeen’s committee hid behind a “voice vote” and didn’t have the wherewithal to publicly face their constituents.
May I suggest that Mr. Lundeen (1) Reconvene his committee. (2) Alert the media. (3) Call the roll.
