This ain’t your grandma’s denomination

I’m thankful for the mainline denominations who have “outed” themselves in their recent Letters (plural) to the Editor in support of what the Bible clearly condemns, namely the ever-expanding alphabet soup of LGBTQIA+++. By doing so they have done individuals and families looking for a bible-believing church a huge favor. They now know which ones to avoid.
For decades now these denominations have abandoned the belief in the infallibility and inerrancy of the Holy Scriptures and have twisted the Word of God, as if it were a wax nose, to fit their own leftist agenda, mirroring the present zeitgeist (spirit of the age) and the talking points of today’s far left Democrat Party. And NO, it’s not “loving,” “empathetic,” and “inclusive” to affirm and confirm someone in a sin which God’s Word plainly states in BOTH the Old and New Testaments, if continued in without repentance, will exclude them from the Kingdom of God for all eternity (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 Timothy 1:10; Jude 1:7).
In former days these errant denominations have had to promote their agenda in a stealth and deceptive manner, hiding beyond their past tradition and history, and allowing the beautiful architecture of their old historic church buildings, which were constructed by their forerunners who actually held to biblical truth, to serve as a facade of current faithfulness to past orthodoxy. They have been able to parlay their past history, and the fidelity of their denominational predecessors, along with the cumulative trust they built up over decades, to hoodwink unsuspecting parishioners into thinking they still hold fast to sound doctrine. However, most of these now apostate denominations deny the core doctrines of the Christian faith, such as Christ as the only way to salvation and thus heaven (John 8:24, John 14:6, Acts 4:12), the virgin birth, His miracles, His bodily resurrection and ascension, and His bodily second coming in glory.
Evangelical Christians are thankful for the recent transparency of most of the mainline denominations in this country as now, given the dramatic shift in the ethos of culture, the Overton window moving ever leftward, they feel it safe to openly promote what they have covertly believed and endorsed for years. We would just ask they would go even further to complete transparency. For instance, many of these mainline denominations provide abortion services as part of the healthcare they offer their pastors and full-time employees. Where does the money come from? Answer: from the offerings of the members a multitude of individual congregations. How many older folks who have stayed faithful to their local church that is part of a larger mainline denomination, who give sacrificially each week from their social security checks, thinking their money is going to further God’s work, are aware it is being used for killing the unborn children of their pastors and family members? How many who are members of small country churches in rural areas know that the hierarchy of their denomination has practicing homosexuals, even those married to members of the same sex, support Drag Queen children’s sermons, as well as, a transgender bishop who identifies as “they/them” because “they” can’t make up “their” mind as to what sex “they” are(!)?
If people choose to stay in such churches and support these anti-biblical, and anti-Christ practices, although regrettable, they have that right in a free country. However, they should at least be informed this is what is happening at the higher levels of the churches they support. It’s time, parishioners, to ask hard questions of your pastors and leaders, and to do your own research and due diligence, to see if you are supporting such activities unknowingly. Moreover, if you don’t like what you discover, Grandma would certainly forgive you for leaving because, first and foremost, she would be horrified herself at what her church and denomination have become and, secondly, because it won’t really be you leaving her (and your) denomination, as it has already left you, by abandoning God’s Word.
