Pronouns matter because truth and reality matter. Ironically, in our present twisted zeitgeist, it is now those who refer to confused persons, those identifying as another sex, by using their correct birth pronouns who are accused of “misgendering” a person” and who are then subject to societal reprisal and punishment. That punishment may take the form of social ostracization, being fired from his or her (whoops . . . there I go with my politically incorrect binary male/female pronouns again!) job, or even imprisonment by a now inverted upside-down culture. As to the last item, in Canada as a result of Bill C-16 passed in 2017 a Canadian father, Robert Hoogland, was infamously arrested and jailed for “misgendering” his own 14-year-old child, a biological female who identified as transgender and preferred male pronouns, by calling her his “daughter,” and referring to her with the pronouns “she” and “her.”  

When you list your pronouns, such as on your emails or bio, you are cooperating in a fundamental denial of reality, both biblical reality (male and female He made them- Genesis 5:2) and scientific reality (XY and XX chromosomes for males and females respectively), for by doing so you are suggesting someone can be a different gender than their birth sex. You are participating in a lie, a delusion, and one which is intended to deconstruct society. Moreover, if you are a Christian you are denying both God the Father, the Creator of the two sexes, and Jesus Christ the Son, “through whom and for whom all things were made” (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16).    

Stating your pronouns means you are buying into, and supporting, the current poisonous and false woke ideology that gender is something that can be subjectively determined rather than what is intrinsic (hardwired into us) and assigned. This is, of course, in keeping with misguided postmodern subjectivism that asserts it is the individual who determines and “makes” reality, rather than objective truth existing independently, outside the control or consent of the individual.   

The proponents of this “gender is fluid” nonsense will argue that it’s kind, loving, and hospitable to call someone the sex (pronoun) they wish to be called. No, it isn’t, for you are very unlovingly confirming them in a delusion. Would you encourage an anorexic in her delusion as she is wasting away to skin and bones? Would you agree with her that she is still too fat and needs to lose more weight?  Would confirming her in her delusion be loving? The same thing applies with a deranged unstable person who believes they can, and have, changed their sex.  

More insidiously, there is a larger agenda being pushed here with “gender hospitality and inclusion.” That agenda involves the Marxist Communist tactic used to weaken and demoralize a nation’s population by getting them to state things that are false, that they know are false, which even the Left who is propagating the blatant outrageous lies knows is false. It is superbly summarized by the British physician and cultural critic Theodore Dalrymple: ”Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”    

So, when it comes to the pronoun issue, or other current Leftist lying propaganda, do what the famous Russian novelist and Soviet dissident, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, advised his fellow citizens to do under the tyranny of the former communist Soviet Union in his Essay entitled ”Live Not by Lies,” which was at the very least for them to commit themselves to “personal non-participation in lies.” ”Though lies may conceal everything, though lies may control everything, we will be obstinate in this smallest of matters: Let them embrace everything, but not with any help from me. It is the easiest thing to do for us, but the most devastating for the lies. Because when people renounce lies it simply cuts short their existence. Like an infection (parasite), they can exist only in a living organism . . . It’s dangerous. But let us refuse to say that which we do not think. Let us each make a choice: whether to remain consciously a servant of falsehood… or to shrug off the lies and become an honest man worthy of respect from one’s children and contemporaries.”  

May the Citizens of the United States, en masse, make a similar decision regardless of the cost, for our Constitutional Republic depends on it. In the end it will not even be internal, insidious, and traitorous Cultural Marxism, but cowardice, “going along to get along,” that will be the final death knell of this once great and free nation.
