Government necessity, government control
Ben Field , Minot
War in Ukraine. (Unwelcome as it is, we still have to deal with it.)
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is not a threat to Russian security. NATO is only a threat to Russian aggression. NATO is only a threat to Putin’s security. In the past two centuries Western Europe invaded Russia three times: Napoleon in June 24, 1812, the German Kaiser in the summer of 1914, and Hitler in June 22, 1941. In all these instances, a good part of Western Europe was under the control of just one or more dictators. Today Western Europe/NATO is a defensive alliance comprised of thirty very distinct countries, most of them under some form of democratic government amongst whom it would be difficult to have them all, much less a simple majority, decide to invade Russia for “Lebensraum.” If Putin the butcher is not soundly defeated in his unjustified invasion of the Ukraine, he will only pause briefly, like Hitler after the appeasement in Munich in September 30, 1938, before leading to further aggression and greater conflict.
The Control Issues.
Abortion. This is supposedly about people’s “control of their bodies.” First of all, what control is demonstrated by people who have unwelcome fetuses within their wombs? How as the pregnancy accomplished? By magic? By mental telepathy? Apparently self control is not expected in this era of contraceptive pills, diaphragms, spermicidal jelly, condoms, and the word “no.” The Supreme Court decision essential threw jurisdiction over the abortion issue back down to the state and local levels. If one locality does not allow the human being growing within to be terminated, one can always travel to a jurisdiction that does allow this procedure, a procedure designed to correct lack of self control. In cases of rape or danger to the mother, this again may be resolved in state or other local jurisdictions.
Wuhan flu. Regardless of one’s opinion of the necessity, much less the effectiveness of mandatory vaccination of millions of bodies, in this instance control by citizens over their own bodies is obviously not a greater concern to many in the nation’s Capitol and elsewhere. It would be best if encouragement of vaccinations were left to the fifty state legislatures where most powers of government were meant to reside by the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution, a document ignored more and more by the self-perpetuating cliques of power in Washington, D.C. There is provision in the Constitution for legislative mandates by Congress, not by a president.
Semper Fi.
