A lament for the postal service
Mary Swafford , Minot
There must be a reason for getting such poor service from the Post Office. Years ago it was the place to go to work. Now we can’t even get adequate mail delivery.
Today is Thursday, the 13th. We haven’t gotten any mail since Saturday, and I’m sure the only reason we got mail today is because I went and got it. The gals in front are very rude. I’m sure they’re stressed because we want our mail deliveries.
This has been going on for a long time. We also get other people’s mail, and I’m sure they get ours. That is something to worry about.
We pay the Minot Daily to deliver our newspaper. They, too, should check into this because they deliver that with the mail. Well, who wants their newspaper 3 days late?
A while back, my friend sent me a present. She told me she checked and it was in holding at the Minot Post Office, so I went the next day and they told me it had been delivered. Well, I waited 2 days and nothing. I went back to check and they told me it was delivered to my locked box. Well, I have never had a lock box in my life. So they checked and the postal person delivered it to the wrong address, but that person was asked if she received it and she said no. I asked them what they are going to do about it. He just raised his eyebrows and shrugged his shoulders, so that was that.
I was in line today with people in my predicament, and all they can tell us is they are short of help. I think there is an answer. Call in the National Guard. At least they could help them.
Their bosses should be ashamed of themselves. Very ashamed. I challenge their bosses to write in and sort this out, and if they don’t have the answer, they should be working to fix it, whoever you are. Good luck with getting your mail, everyone. Christmas is coming.
We got mail 9 p.m. Oct. 16. Please, anyone knowing someone that wants a job, go to the post office.
