I become so disheartened by the numerous declarations from members of one political party proclaiming that women’s Constitutional Rights were violated by the Dobbs decision which overturned Roe v Wade. What actually happened in the recent Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v Wade, was to correct an egregious unconstitutional decision that occurred in the original decision in 1973. The recent correct decision made it obvious that the US Constitution does not confer the rights to abortion, those rights belong to the people in each of the 50 States. The Supreme Court does not have constitutional authority to make laws.
If you are to completely understand why the 10th Amendment is so important to our US Constitution then the Dobbs decision should be proof of that. What effectively happened by overturning Roe v Wade, was to properly return women’s rights to their proper place; the people in our States. One size does not fit all…
