What’s not to like?

Two weeks early voting. Vote by mail if you want. Register the same day. Paper trail for all ballots. An end to gerrymandering. Transparency, and safety for election officials. Election Day as a holiday. We have heard for many years how sad it is that more US citizens don’t vote. The Freedom to Vote Act would have made voting easier; why not pass it? The states’ rights excuse doesn’t hold water; I didn’t see our state legislating any of these reforms to encourage voting.

Our Attorney General’s Office has advised the Ward County commissioners to listen to our State’s Attorney’s opinion concerning gun and mandate ideas brought to them in the last few months. The office said our state’s attorney’s opinions are “comprehensive, providing detailed analysis and advice to the commission,” and went on to say the commissioners would be derelict in their duties if they ignored said advice. There you have it, unless you like to play those games outside your lane.

Thank you to the entire staff and personnel of our local hospital’s covid unit and ICU. You have spent almost two years in incredibly stressful exercise of your skills and capacity for caring. It is appreciated.
