It’s too late baby…

Dan Reinhard, Minot

I heard a political news commentator state: ‘in the 2020 election there were only two blocks of voters, those that voted for Trump and those that voted against him.” I believe that to be true. I’ve also heard many voters during the election campaign, especially the elderly, say: I can’t put up with his demeanor, I hate all of his tweets. And others that said: I want more decorum with the president.

Recently, in one article, where I haven’t the resources to verify its validity read: “20% of the people that voted for Biden have serious regrets.” (I believe that will happen whenever people use the emotional side of their brain rather than the cognitive side to reach any important decision.) I’ve heard various sources ask: Should Biden be impeached? I do not support that measure because the outcome would be grossly worse…

What happened in this country during the past several months that caused that turbulence among the electorate? I will list a few:

– The disgraceful method of retreat in Afghanistan. In the words of ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair: “imbecilic.” Prime Minister Boris Johnson called Biden: “doolally.” Additionally, where do we provide settlements for approximately 200,000 Afghan “refugees”? Keep in mind, refugees have to receive a home, living expenses, free medical as well as free education. And why did billions of dollars in American paid-for military equipment fall into the hands of the Taliban?

– Absolute anarchy at our Southern border. Anywhere between 300,000 to 500,000 non-vetted immigrants have entered our country, their locations are anyone’s guess.

– Rising gas prices, up over $1 per gallon which becomes a heavy “tax” on the low and middle income classes.

– Skyrocketing crime throughout most major cities around the country, some areas have seen it rise over 100%.

– Inflation rate has been on a steady incline which devalues the dollar and impacts all retirement accounts, savings and price of everyday purchase items.

– By Executive Order, Biden resigned the Paris Climate Accord. Since this agreement is a US Treaty with foreign nations, do not all treaties require two-thirds vote from the US Senate?

– Critical Race Theory (CRT) is supported by this administration and most large teachers unions as necessary curriculum to be taught to our youth. CRT is nothing short of teaching tribalism and demeans all of the Martin Luther King legacy.

– The exorbitant price tags on the whimsical upcoming New Green Deal legislation.

Don’t simply blame the voter, remember Goggle, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Apple, Netflix and Twitter collectively, contributed $57 million dollars to only one party to influence the outcome of the election…
