Their concerns should be ours too
Mark Ostrem, Rugby
Thank you to all ND officials that have been standing with the citizens of Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin with their concerns about election irregularities. Many people in these states believe their elections were manipulated. It seems appropriate that we in North Dakota are also concerned and supportive.
The Attorney General’s office did well to align with at least 18 other states asking that consideration be given to the concerns of these citizens. Thank you, Mr. Stenehjem.
Likely, ND’s Washington delegation, the State Legislature, and Governor are all aware that the concerns of these other states should also be of concern to us, and for this I’m glad to live in our state.
Finally we can appreciate that the U.S. Supreme Court did not want to be in the middle of an individual state’s election business. We have already experienced the dangers of federal over reach by the Supreme court in 1973 (Roe v. Wade) and in 2015 (Obergefell v. Hodges).
