All should be treated equally

Lloyd Kvam, Minot

In a place of business I think everybody should be treated the same as much as possible. This is especially true when you are hands on with people in hospitals or nursing homes.

Some employees are not trained to perform their duties to the satisfaction of their patients or residents. A person is made up with physical, mental, and spiritual attributes. A lady in a wheel chair can’t defend herself or speak up when she feels like she is being treated unfairly.

Recently I was denied going to a walk in clinic without being quarantined for a medical condition yet others could drive to their farms, go out to dinner, get their glasses fixed or whatever. It really breaks the spirit of some of us especially when we are shut-ins in a Nursing Home. Management needs to do a better job in recognizing how they can help people. I’m sure there are some opportunities for them to get some training too.

There is always turn-over to deal with. If people had some training, however, they might feel better about their jobs and stay on longer. I think a certification of some sort should be required more so for management.
