Greedy NBA/NFL wrong on China

Ron Carlson, Bismarck

Firstly, the NFL refuses to stand in front of the American flag as the national anthem is played. Secondly, the NBA refuses to stand with the people of Hong Kong as they attempt to face down communism and its attack on personal freedoms.

Some very very dedicated Chinese are standing up to their all powerful regime.

The NBA dances around this subject as if one shouldn’t criticize or take exception with a regime putting the kibosh on, among other things, the right of citizens to disagree with that government. Initially the NBA mucky mucks came down on the general manager that stood with the Chinese people on the streets of Hong Kong. The general manager got it right and he is flushed down the gutter. Heavenly days don’t criticize China when you daily trash the elected President of the United States.

Talk about misguided, at least, and greedy money grubbing owners, at worst, either way you need not “send in the clowns” as the clowns in professional sports are putting on a three ring circus and already present. In ring one are the NFL millionaire football players preforming the kneel because they don’t think the flag is a symbol of freedom. In ring two are the NBA millionaire basketball players with their hands out for “Mo Money” over individual/personal freedoms….no doubt this ring would prefer Mo Money over their ability to voice their own personal opinions in the United States? Just sayin’. In ring three are the MLB players who have been silent. Maybe in this case silence is golden.

The clowns have been enjoying huge incomes bouncing a little basketball or knocking heads on the grid iron but have no idea what this country is about, certainly their values are misplaced. Thank the Good Lord our founders did not have the NBA/NFL mentality, or lack their of, guiding them.
