Avoiding the ‘Kool Aid’

Steven Moen

Minot

I am extremely glad and grateful that our congressional delegation still represents the vast majority of North Dakotans and haven’t drunk any of the LBGTQ Kool Aid.

Why should they toss 75% of the population, Christians, under the bus to kowtow to the misguided wishes of 3-5% of the population? I am grateful they are standing strong and resisting the progressive leftist who think the sinful lifestyle of the LBGTQ bunch needs to be crammed down the throats of the rest of us.

If this only affected the 3-5% would be one thing but it affects 100% of us and our lifestyles, religion and way of life.

Gay men are 5 times more likely to commit suicide than straight men, half of transgender people have attempted suicide and are more likely to be diagnosed with mental health issues, the parents of a 12 year old drag queen are wondering why pedophiles are stalking their child, why would we want the entire population to go this route?

Fifty years ago 95% of the population identified as Christians and most kids were raised in a two-parent (mom and dad) household, divorces were hard to come by. But then Reagan admittedly made the biggest mistake of his political career and signed the no fault divorce bill into law in California and that was the beginning of the disintegration of the traditional family unit along with the decline of church attendance.

The church didn’t help matters much with the embracing of secular beliefs and their own sex scandals, which were in large part homosexual in nature.

But God is still God and He will not be mocked, those who claim to be Christians but embrace a sinful lifestyle will be held accountable along with those who condone it. (Romans 1:21-32)

Billy Graham said years ago that if God doesn’t judge this country He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah and it is much worse today than then. We are all sinners and there is only one way to avoid this judgment and that is to be washed in the blood of Christ, to trust in Him only and to pick up our crosses daily and follow Him. That is for all of us, not just the LGBTQ crowd, but also the adulterers, murders, liars, thieves, fornicators, gossipers, the list goes on and includes all of us.

Jesus said if you love me keep my commandments. So if we love Him we can’t just continue in our sinful lifestyles and think everything is OK, we need to change and follow Him.
