Cease federal taxation of Social Security

I read with great interest the opinion article 6/16/19 regarding the State of North Dakota taxing Social Security payments. I agree all Social Security benefits should be tax free. It is not every day I agree with the opinion of the Minot Daily. We who receive Social Security benefits have already been taxed. The poll of readers was 96% to end the tax. I would request the Minot Daily conduct another poll. The question would be, “Should the federal tax also be Eliminated?” If this occurs the funds which go to individuals would be spent in our local economies nationwide, and also allow Seniors etc. a more reasonable retirement.
